Upper Montclair, NJ… The College of New Jersey’s women’s swimming & diving team was in action on Saturday afternoon at Montclair State University in their season-opener of the 2003-2004 campaign. The Lions notched a 148-73 win to start off 1-0 overall, while MSU’s women fall to 0-1 on the year.WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS

Freshman Kendall Warren (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown) captured both the 200 back (2:22.39) and the 200 free (2:04.61) and helped the Lions win the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:28.82. Others swimming the relay with Warren were seniors Aubrey Horvath (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) and Lauren O’Donnell (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and rookie Tara Plusch (Plainview, NY/Plainview-Old Bethpage-JFK).
Horvath won the 50 free in 25.10, while O’Donnell captured the 500 free in 5:31.01 for TCNJ. Senior diver Kristen Simms (Mt. Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional) won the one-meter event with her score of 412.125.
Up next for the women will be a tri-meet with Franklin & Marshall College and Division II Kutztown University at Kutztown on November 7 at 6:00.
