Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey’s women’s swimming & diving team was in action on Saturday afternoon in TCNJ’s Aquatic Center against Southern Connecticut State University. The women posted a decisive 144-99 win over SCSU (0-4) to improve to 3-1 overall.

Senior Lauren O’Donnell (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) won the 50 free in 25.64, placed second in the 500 free in 5:30.08, and was on the winning 400 free relay (3:54.48). Senior Aubrey Horvath (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough), junior Heather Mierkowski (Audubon, NJ/Audubon), and freshman Kendall Warren (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown) also swam on the winning 400 free relay team.
Horvath captured the 100 free in 54.63, while Warren won the 200 free in 2:00.89 and took second in the 200 back (2:18.19). Senior diver Kristen Simms (Mt. Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional) captured both the one-meter and three-meter diving events with 281.05 and 293.00, respectively.
For SCSU, junior Stacey Mehringer (Reading, MA) paced the Owls with three first-place individual finishes. Mehringer captured 200 IM (2:16.08), 200 fly (2:12.32), and the 500 free (5:20.60). Junior Caitlin Turina (Torrington, CT) captured the 200 back in 2:16.93, while sophomore Carolynn Navarro (Seymour, CT) won the 200 breast (2:37.88).
Up next for the women will be a home meet against Bloomsburg University on November 22 at 2:00 in TCNJ’s Aquatic Center.
