Collegeville, PA…The College of New Jersey’s senior co-captain Nick Vinciguerra (Cream Ridge, NJ/Jackson) picked up his third straight championships title in three weeks as he won the championship crown at 197 pounds at the Ursinus College Fall Brawl.
Vinciguerra, who won titles the past two weeks at both the Ithaca College Invitational and now the Central Jersey Open, remains unbeaten on the new season at 197 pounds. In the finals, he tallied a 6-2 victory over Ursinus senior Scott Roesch (Egg Harbor, NJ/Absecon).
Additional place finishers for the Lions included a second place showing by junior Brian Dempsey (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) who dropped a 3-1 decision to Scott Norle of Ursinus at 125 pounds.
Freshman Mike Somma (Readington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) took second place at 174 pounds after being pinned in the finals by Ursinus Kyle Capella (Egg Harbor City, NJ/Absegami) at 3:13.
Freshman Jeff Harrington (Stockton, NJ/Hunterdon Central) dropped a 6-3 decision in the championship bout to Scott Rush to take second at 165 pounds.
Senior Pat Lavin (Farmingdale, NJ/Howell) took second at 184 pounds, while teammate, freshman James Tomczuk (Delran, NJ/Delran) took third in the same weight class.
Taking third place at 157 pounds was the Lions’ sophomore Joey Galante (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City).
