New York, NY…The College of New Jersey men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed on Friday night at the FasTrak Meet at the 168th Street Armory, a non-team scored event.

Sophomore Brian Kopnicki (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) finished in first place in the unseeded section of the one mile run in 4:13.63, an NCAA provisional qualifying time.
In the 5,000 meter run, freshman Kyle Alpaugh (High Bridge, NJ/Voorhees) finished in sixth place in the unseeded race with a time of 15:19.27, an ECAC worthy performance. Also in the same race for the Lions was freshman Chris Guerriero (Saddle Brook, NJ/Saddle Brook) as he finished in 13th place in 15:31.76, also an ECAC qualifying time.
Among the many highlights at the meet for the Lion women, senior Kara Horner (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) finished in third in the unseeded section of the mile run with an ECAC qualifying time of 5:13.97. Sophomore Erin Enderly (Ocean Township, NJ/Ocean Township) posted a time of 5:18.21 in the same race to take ninth.
In the 3,000 meter run, the Lions posted three ECAC qualifying performances as freshman Julie Ullmeyer (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional) led the way with a time of 10:42.00, while sophomore Heather Garleb (Howell, NJ/Howell) had a time of 10:46.00 and junior Jenna Prendergast (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) had a time of 10:47.00.
