Philadelphia, PA…The College of New Jersey women’s outdoor track and field team opened competition on Thursday at the Penn Relays. The Lions proceeded to break a school record at the meet and turn in an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the process.
In the distance medley relay, the Lions set a school record after posting a time of 12:05.44 behind the efforts of junior Angela Tecco (Wildwood Crest, NJ/Lower Cape May) , sophomore Sara Best (High Bridge, NJ/Voorhees), freshman Stephanie Herrick (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley), and freshman Martine McGrath (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional).
In the women’s 4 x 400 relay, the Lions had an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:50.74 and finished second in their heat. On the Lions’ relay were sophomore Carolyn Gray (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional), senior Brittny Boyd (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown), senior Tiffany Clark (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) and .sophomore Jessica Bonelli (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic).
