Philadelphia, PA…The College of New Jersey men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed on Friday at the Penn Relays broke three school records on Friday at the 2006 running of the event.
Senior Brian Donovan (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) broke the College record while competing at the Penn Relays in the 10,000 meter run. Donovan’s time of 30.00.99 is also an NCAA automatic qualifying time.
In the men’s sprint relay, the Lions finished in first place in their heat with a school record performance of 3:24.58 behind the efforts of senior Karim Cockrell (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark), senior Kevin Jones (Galloway, NJ/Absegami), freshman Rob McGowan (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township) and senior Jeff Zodda (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame).
In the women’s sprint medley relay, the Lions also set a school record with a time of 4:05.23. On the Lions’ relay were senior Brittny Boyd (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown), sophomore Carolyn Gray (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional), sophomore Jessica Bonelli (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and junior Angela Tecco (Wildwood Crest, NJ/Lower Cape May).
