Lancaster, PA –The College of New Jersey men's basketball team dropped an 85-76 decision on Saturday night in the consolation game of the Woodrow S.W. Sponaugle New Year's Tournament on the campus of Franklin and Marshall College. Edgewood College improved to 4-7 overall, while the Lions fall to 4-6.
Edgewood College would own a 39-28 lead and the Lions were unable to regroup despite a career-high performance by the Lions' senior guard
Eric Blackmon-Hayes (Plainfield, NJ/Westfield) as he led all players with 22 points in the contest. Blackmon-Hayes added 22 points on a 7-9 effort from the floor that included a 2-3 mark from three-point range and a perfect 6-6 effort from the line. Blackmon-Hayes' previous career-high stood at 13 points in the Lions' home opener, a 65-59 win over Lehman College.
Blackmon-Hayes was rewarded for his efforts with a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
For the contest, TCNJ did not miss a single free-throw as the team was 11-11 from the charity stripe and held a 40-32 edge on the boards over Edgewood.
Adding to the night was an additional career-high performance turned in by junior guard
William Jett (Browns Mills, NJ/Pemberton) as he poured in 16 points , bettering his previous high of 14 points from a year ago.

Jay Frank (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) contributed 12 points in the contest.
Edgewood was led Kent Faurote who scored 21 points, while Ben Wisniewski chipped in 19 points.
TCNJ returns to action on January 7 when they host Richard Stockton College in the Lions' NJAC home opener at 8 p.m. in Packer Hall.
