Oberlin, OH... The College of New Jersey women's cross country team turned in strong performance at the 2009 Inter-Regional Rumble held on Saturday at Oberlin College.
Running amongst a strong field, the Lion women placed seventh in the 25-team field with 220 points.
Johns Hopkins University took top team honors in the women’s race with 62 points.
Leading the charge for the women was senior Michelle Wallace (Emerson, NJ/Emerson) as she placed 14th overall with a time of 22:05. Sophomore Katie Nestor (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands) claimed 30th overall in the race with a time of 22:41 and was followed by senior Nicole Ullmeyer (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional) in 41st place in 23:04.
The Lions had two more runners cross the finish line in the next 37 seconds starting with freshmen Rachel Morris (Marlboro, NJ/Colts Neck) in 23:20, senior Kelly Cahill (Coram, NY/Longwood) in 23:38, and freshman Cathy Goncalves (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) in 23:41.
