Men's and women's soccer receive bye to NJAC tournament opening round

2009 New Jersey Athletic Soccer Championship Tournament
Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey men’s and women’s soccer teams earned the #2 seeds in their respective New Jersey Athletic Conference championship tournaments. Each team earns a first-round bye and will host the second round of the tournament.

In the women’s soccer championship, the Lions (15-2, 7-2 NJAC) will take on third-seeded William Paterson (10-6-3) on Tuesday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Lions' Stadium. Paterson defeated and sixth-seeded Montclair State 1-0 this past Saturday in the opening round. TCNJ dropped a 1-0 decision at William Paterson earlier this season.

In the men’s tournament, the Lions (7-5-4, 5-2-2 NJAC) will play third-seeded Rowan University (12-5-2)  on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Lions’ Stadium. The Profs defeated sixth-seeded William Paterson (8-5-6) 1-0 this past Saturday in the opening round. TCNJ drew a 1-1 tie with Rowan earlier this season in Glassboro, NJ on September 23.

The women’s championship game will be played Friday, November 6 at the site of the highest remaining seed. The men’s championship game will be played Saturday, November 7 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
