Morris, NY … The College of New Jersey men’s cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by SUNY Geneseo. The men’s team placed 10th out of 38 teams in the competition.

Junior T.J. Bocchino (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) led all TCNJ runners placing 24th in the field of 264 runners posting a time of 25:50.0. Bocchino and the Lions ran the 8000-meter race at Letchworth State Park in Morris, NY. Freshman Max Sparshatt (Rumson, NJ/Rumson Fair Haven) put forth a standout performance in his first NCAA Atlantic regional finishing 44th with a time of 26:21.8.

Senior Brandon Rodkewitz (Wharton, NJ/Morris Hills) is peaking at the right time in 2009 placing 47th with a finishing time of 26:26.2. Sophomore Alex Yersak (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) crossed the finish line in 27:21.0 take the 89th spot while junior Dennie Waite (Little Silver, NJ/Red Bank Regional) was four spots behind completing his run in 27:24.8. 

Bocchino qualified to compete in the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College at Highland Hills Golf Course in Highland Hills, OH. Bocchino is one of 56 runners who are not part of a qualifying team that will compete in the race this Saturday, November 21.

SUNY Cortland was overall team winner with 49 points and Peter Kosgei placed first with a winning time of 24:40.6.
