Dennis Waite was a All-NJAC First Team selection
Ewing, NJ … Four runners on The College of New Jersey men’s cross country team earned New Jersey Athletic Conference all-conference honors for the 2009 season.
Junior TJ Bocchino (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East), junior Dennis Waite (Little Silver, NJ/Red Bank Regional), and freshman Max Sparshatt (Rumson, NJ/Rumson Fair Haven) were named to the All-NJAC First Team. Sophomore Kevin Schickling (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was placed on the All-NJAC Second Team.
The selections were based on the runners’ finishes at the 2009 NJAC Championships held at Richard Stockton College. Bocchino placed second in the 8k event with a time of 26:37.61. Waite placed fourth with a time of 27:03.60 and Sparshatt demonstrated great promise for the future of Lions program by placing fifth with a time of 27:04.41
Schickling was two runners outside of first team honors as he finished in eighth place with a time of 27:25.22
The Lions won their 16 consecutive title at the NJAC Championships in 2009.
