Ewing, NJ … Five runners on The College of New Jersey women's cross country team earned New Jersey Athletic Conference all-conference honors for the 2009 season.
Senior
Michelle Wallace (Emerson, NJ/Emerson), senior
Kelly Cahill (Coram, NY/Longwood), and
Kathleen Nestor (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands) were named to the All-NJAC First Team. Senior
Kelly Ullmeyer (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional) and freshman
Rachel Morris (Marlboro, NJ/Colts Neck) were placed on the All-NJAC Second Team.
The selections were based on the runners' finishes at the 2009 NJAC Championships held at Richard Stockton College. Wallace placed second in the 6k event with a time of 22:37.33. Nestor placed fourth at 24:06.15 and Cahill finished seventh at 24:13.69.
Ullmeyer was the top finisher amongst second team honorees placing eighth with a time of 24:18.69. Morris had a great showing in her first NJAC championship race posting a time of 24:28.98, which was good for tenth place.
The Lions won their 15 consecutive title at the NJAC Championships and their 26th in 29 years.
