Williamstown, MA … The College of New Jersey men’s cross country team placed ninth overall out of 43 teams at the East Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Williams College.

In the men's 8000-meter race, sophomore Alex Yersak (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) led the with Lions finishing in 48th place out of 296 runners in 28:11. Freshman Matt Hernberg (Linwood, NJ/Mainland Regional) was three runners back placing 51st with a time of 28:14. Sophomore Nick Bond (Middletown, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) was right on his heels at 28:15, good for 52nd place overall.

Junior Aleks Erins (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) had a solid performance posting a time of 28:34 (68th place) and freshman Alex Matteson (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) got his feet wet at his first ECAC meet with a time of 28:35 (71st place).

The men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by SUNY Geneseo in Morris, NY on Saturday, November 14 at 11 a.m.
