Burns dives to NCAA qualifier

Ewing, NJ ... Sophomore TJ Burns (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) qualified for NCAA competition during the Lions Diving Invitational held Friday evening.

Burns qualified in both the 3-meter event (11 dives) with a score of 452.8 as well as the 3-meter (6 dives) posting a score of 291.8. Burns placed second at the event behind Matt Fitgerald of Springfield College.

Freshman Billy Cavallo (Vineland, NJ/Cumberland) registered scores of 352.2 and 203.6 placing fifth in the event.

Elaina Horowitz competed in the women's competition registers scores of 285.45 in the 1-meter (11 dives) and 145.85 in the 1-meter (6 dives) events.

The Lions Invitational continues tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in Packer Hall. The event includes the host Lions, Rowan University and Springfield College.
