Glassboro, NJ…The College of New Jersey softball team saw its run through the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament come to an end as top-seeded and host Rowan University posted a 4-0 win over the Lions on Saturday in an elimination game.

The loss capped TCNJ's season with a record of 24-17, while the Profs move on to face William Paterson University.

The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Rowan opened the scoring with an unearned run. The hosts then struck for three more runs in the sixth making the final difference four runs.

Rowan senior Jackie Sasko (Groveville, NJ/Steinert) limited the Lions to only a pair of hits as she picked up her 19th win of the season.

Junior Ellen Seavers (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) and sophomore Alex Sietsma (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) each had hits for TCNJ.

Starting pitcher Ashley Minervini (Cliffside Park, NJ/Cliffside Park) suffered the loss for the Lions throwing a complete game allowing only three earned runs with four strikeouts.
