Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women’s swimming and diving team won their second straight New Jersey Athletic Conference championship defeating Rowan University at TCNJ’s Aquatic Center.

The Lions (8-1, 4-0 NJAC) bested the Profs by a score of 183-110. Since men’s and women’s swimming returned to the NJAC as a sport last year, both Lions’ squads have claimed back-to-back titles.

On senior day, seniors Chrisina Falcone (Newtown, PA/Notre Dame), Ashley Robb (Blackwood, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), Stephanie Seto (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert), and Julianne Clapp (Allentown, PA/Parkland) teamed up in meet's final event and placed first in 400-yard freestyle relay with a winning time of 3:54.54.

Falcone also won the 200-yard butterfly event in 2:11.86 and Robb also contributed to the 200 medley relay winning time of 1:51.31. Seto placed second in the 200 free touching the wall in 203.46.

Junior Margaret Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East), sophomore Traci Hofer (Millville, NJ/Millville), sophomore Laura Pierce (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West), and freshman Kayleigh Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park) were multiple event winners.

Junior diver Amanda Obst (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional) placed first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 215.45 and took second in the 3-meter dive posting 208.80.

The Lions return to the waters on February 19 when they compete in the Metropolitan Conference Championships held at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ.
