Haverford, PA... The College of New Jersey women's indoor track and field team continued to garner numerous championships qualifying marks as the Lions competed at the McElligot Invitational hosted by Haverford College on Saturday.
The Lions broke a pair of meet records at the event as senior
Priscilla Senyah (Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) set a new mark in the 55-meter dash with a top time of 7.31 seconds, while senior
Jianna Spadaccini (Butler, NJ/Butler) set a new meet standard in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.70. That mark is also a NCAA provisional time.
Senyah added to her strong meet with a second-place effort in the 55-meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional cut of 8.46 seconds.
The TCNJ had two more winning performances at the meet with junior
Meryl Wimberly (Farmingdale, NJ/Colts, Neck) winning the 400 meters in 1:00.06 and the Lions also won the 4x400 meter relay.
In the mile,
Michelle Wallace (Emerson, NJ/Emerson) was second with an ECAC qualifying time of 5:06.76 and she was third in the 800 in 2:24.14.
Freshman
Kayla Ghanavati (Seaville, NJ/Ocean City) had a solid meet finishing third in the 200 meters (27.19) and fourth in the 55 dash (7.63).
TCNJ had two high place winners in the long jump as
Emma Tucci (Verona, NJ/Verona) was second (5.08 meters) and
Brielle Doremus (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) was third (5.05).
Senior Meghan
Miller (Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) boasted a third-place finish in the 400 in 1:02.61.
