Minneapolis, Minn. ... In a week that has been littered with achievements on a national scale, two more swimmers from The College of New Jersey left their marks on a program rich in history.
Senior
Myles O'Connor (Santa Monica, CA/Homeschool) and junior
Tom Medvecky (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) earned All-American honors at the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championships. O'Connor was national runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke placing second with a time of 55.15. Medvecky placed seventh in the 200-yard butterfly posting a finishing time of 1:50.60 breaking his own school record.
The relay team of junior
Shawn Kircher (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North), sophomore
Mike Vernoia (Hillsborough, NJ/Immaculata), Medvecky, and sophomore
Ryan Clark (Ocean City, NJ/St. Augustine) placed fifth in the 800-yard freestyle relay event. Their finish earned them All-American honors as they touched the wall in 6:43.69.
Sophomore
T.J. Burns (Clarks Summit, Pa/Abington Heights) placed 19th in the 1-meter diving even with a total score of 395.55.
Entering the final day of competition, the men's team is in fifth place overall with 181 points, just two points behind fourth place Kalamazoo.
