Lions continue to shine in Florida sun

Steven Fernandez won at first singles and doubles.

Orlando, FL...The College of New Jersey men's tennis teams won its second straight match in Florida as the Lions collected an 8-1 win over Carthage College on Monday.

With the win, TCNJ moves to 2-1 on the young season.

The Lions swept the doubles portion of the match as Stewart Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and Steven Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) won 8-5 at first doubles, while the pair of Dean Thompson (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) and TJ Riley (Mount Laurel, NJ/ Moorestown) came out on top in second doubles, 8-2. TCNJ completed the sweep in doubles as the duo of Jonathan Yu (Hamilton Square, NJ/Steinert) and Dan Lee (Abington, PA/Abington) won 8-3 in the third slot.

Stewart Fernandez, Thompson, Yu, Keith Goldstein (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), and Lee added wins in singles play.

TCNJ closes out its spring trrip on Tuesday facing Vassar College.
