Ewing, NJ...The honors off the field based on their performances on the field continue to pour in following a successful season for The College of New Jersey softball team as the Lions had four players honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The trio of senior pitcher Ashley Minervini (Cliffside Park, NJ/Cliffside Park), senior shortstop Ellen Seavers (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood), and sophomore outfielder Crystal Lee (Dover, NJ/Morris Knolls) each landed a spot on the East Region First Team, while sophomore pitcher Lauren Fitzsimmons (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) secured a spot on the East Region Second Team

Minervini had a tremendous season as she posted a 16-8 record with a 1.06 earned-run-average, which led the New Jersey Athletic Conference and also ranked nationally. She logged 158 innings on the mound and recorded 133 strikeouts. Minervini posted 21 complete games during the regular season with six of those being shutouts. She was previously named the 2010 NJAC Pitcher of the Year and All-NJAC First Team, marking the second time during her career she has received all-conference honors.

Seavers earned East Region First Team recognition for the second straight year and has been honored by the organization in each of the last three. She finished fourth in the NJAC batting race with a .359 batting average and also had solid power numbers with 14 doubles and a career-high 33 runs batted in. Seavers, a four-year starter for the Lions, was named All-NJAC First Team for the third straight season and is a standout student as well as she earned a spot on the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II First Team.

Lee started every game in the outfield for TCNJ this spring and was a catalyst for the team's offense from the lead-off position. She batted .380 with a conference-leading 54 hits and led the NJAC with 29 stolen bases, while scoring 32 times. She was an All-NJAC First Team honoree.

Fitzsimmons ranked among the conference leaders in ERA (1.17) and wins (17) finishing second and third in those categories. The right-hander recorded 132 strikeouts in 120 innings and was named All-NJAC Second Team. Early in the season, Fitzsimmons fired a five-inning perfect game as the Lions defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College, 9-0.

The Lions had a very successful season winning the NJAC regular season title and receiving an at-large bid to the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament. TCNJ finished with a record 33-10.
