NCAA meet results
Berea, Ohio … Junior
Miriam Khan (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley) ran the top time in the 100-meter dash preliminary heats as four members of The College of New Jersey advanced to the finals in individual events at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Baldwin-Wallace College.
Khan posted a school-record time of 11.85 seconds and will enter the final race in lane four at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.
Teammates
Meryl Wimberly (Farmingdale, NJ/Colts Neck) and
Jianna Spadaccini (Butler, NJ/Butler) both placed first in their respective heats to qualify for the finals in the 800-meter event. Wimberly ran the best time overall finishing in 2:10.28. Spadaccini had the third-best posting crossing the line in 2:11.17. The Lions tandem will compete for the national title at 2:50 p.m. tomorrow.
Senior hurdler
Priscilla Senyah (Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville) advanced to finals in the 100-meter hurdles event. Senyah qualified with a time of 14.18 placing second in her heat and posting the seventh-best time overall. Senior Kristen Bates of Messiah College registered the top time at 13.83 seconds.
Senior
Michelle Wallace (Emerson, NJ/Emerson) finished 10th in the country in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Wallace finished in 10:52.10, more than a half second ahead of conference foe Jena Peacock of Rowan University. Kim Chinn of Baldwin-Wallace College earned the distinction of national champion with a finishing time of 10:30.53.
Wallace will run the final race of her illustrious career tomorrow at 3:55 p.m. in the 5,000-meter race.
Junior
Kyle Gilroy (Oak Ridge, NJ/West Milford Twp.) ran a solid race in the 110-meter hurdles finishing in 14.55 but did not advance to the finals. Sophomore
Chris Medina (Lakewood, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) gained valuable experience posting a time of 11.02 in the 100-meter dash in his final race of the season.
Tomorrow is the final day of competition at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
