Cleveland, OH... The College of New Jersey athletic department finished 10th in the 2010-11 Learfield Sports Director's Cup race for institutions competing at the NCAA Division III level. The Lions garnered a total 660.75 points as they finished in the top 10 for the 16th straight year.

The Directors' Cup ratings are the results of an accumulation of points accrued at the various NCAA Division III Championships to evaluate the ranking of a college's overall athletic program.

TCNJ notched top-10 finishes in six different sports throughout the academic year starting with the women's soccer and field hockey teams each placing ninth during the fall campaign. In the winter season, TCNJ's women's swimming and diving team boasted a fifth-place finish, while the women's indoor track team claimed ninth. The highlight of the spring season came from the women's lacrosse team as they finished third and the men's tennis team was ninth.

The Lions had two more teams in the top 15 as the men's swimming and diving team was 12th and men's indoor track and field was 15th.

By placing 10th, TCNJ is one of only two institutions to finish in the top 10 in each of the 16 years the history of the Director's Cup. Williams College (MA) is the other to accomplish that feat.

Williams won the Division III Directors' Cup for the 13th consecutive with 1,147 points.
