Galloway, NJ ... The College of New Jersey men's cross country team placed first out seven competing teams at the Osprey Open hosted by Richard Stockton College.

Senior Shaun McGeever (Lincroft, NJ/Middleton South) paced the Lions finishing second overall with a time of 19:30.71 in the 6k event. Teammate Nick Bond (Middletown, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) crossed the finish line next completing the race in 19:36.26.

Seniors Alex Yersak (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee), Andy Herschmann (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan), and junior Mark Sidebottom (Montville, NJ/Montville)  took sixth, seventh, and eighth place to seal the overall victory for TCNJ. Yersak posted a time of 19:39.81, Herschmann registered 19:47.41, and Sidebottom finished up with a time of 19:49.89.

In all 12 TCNJ harries finished in the top 20 of a field of 82 runners.Ozzie Huerta of Gloucester County Community College posted the top time winning the race in 19:17.85.

The Lions return to competition next Friday at the Paul Short Invitational event held at Lehigh University.
