Meet results
Swarthmore, Pa … A number of athletes posted season-best times as The College of New Jersey men's outdoor track and field team competed in the Swarthmore Last Chance under the lights at Swarthmore College on Monday night.
Junior
Julio Alorro (Creskill, NJ/Creskill) tied his own school record in the pole vault event. He topped the field outright by clearing 4.80 meters (15' 9”) and now ranks in the top 30 in the nation in that event.
Sophomore
Scott Lisa (Highand Lakes, NJ/Vernon) also raised the bar in the high jump, clearing his top height this season as he took second with a leap of 1.95 meters
Junior
Alex Brown (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) finished fifth out of 27 runners in the 400-meter event. He knocked off more than a half a second to best his fast time this season registering 49.48.
A pair of juniors posted their best finishes in distance events at Swarthmore. In the 3000-meter steeplechase
Andy Gallagher (New Foundland, NJ/New Foundland) placed eighth overall crossing the finish line in 9:27.87. Teammate
Mark Sidebottom (Montville, NJ/Montville) sliced over 25 seconds off his best performance in the 5000-meter event. His finish of 15:12.77 was a season-best at put him in the top of the pack of 72 runners.
Senior
Kyle Magliaro (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) ran a personal best time of 22.70 in the 200-meter event to place 12
th overall. Classmate
Robert Jiggetts (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) was right behind him finishing in 22.71.
TCNJ will play host this Thursday in the Lions' Last Chance Qualifier. The hammer throw event will begin at noon, while the track events start at 2:30 p.m.
