Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey athletic department in conjunction with the women's basketball team will celebrate the 27th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day by hosting a basketball skills clinic on Saturday, January 26 in Packer Hall.
The event is for all girls 8 to 13 years of age and centered around the Lions basketball game against Ramapo College at 1 p.m. Prior to the game, players will enjoy a talk from guest speaker and former TCNJ great Hillary Klimowicz in the Student Recreation Center. They will participate in an interactive skills session before heading over to Packer Hall to watch the pregame warm-up.
Following the game, all attendees will have an opportunity to meet the players during an autograph session. The Lions are currently 9-4 on the season and stand in second place in the New Jersey Athletic Conference with a 5-1 mark in league play.
Klimowicz is presently an assistant coach for TCNJ. During her playing career, she was the 2009 State Farm-WBCA Division III National Player of the Year and led the Lions to the NCAA Division III Final Four. Kilmowicz went on to play professional basketball France and Switzerland.
The clinic is free and special prizes will be given out during the game by TCNJ's Cheerleading and Dance teams. The clinic begins at 11 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 3 p.m. with the autograph session with TCNJ players.
