Ewing, NJ ... The College of New Jersey athletics program closes out another exciting and successful year in sports. The Lions continue to build on their reputation as one of the best Division III programs in the country.
In 2016, TCNJ saw 14 of its sports compete in the NCAA Championships. The women's lacrosse team competed in the regional championship game, softball was one win shy of a super regional berth, and then men's swimming and diving team posted a top 10 finish (7th) for the third straight season. The baseball team made its first trip to the national tournament since 2009 and men's cross country qualified as a team for the first time since 2008.
The Lions were crowned New Jersey Athletic Conference Champions in six sports. Men's basketball competed in their first NJAC final since 1998 and is off to a strong start this season. The wrestling program continued its streak of having at least one grappler earning All-American honors for the 46th consecutive season and the women's tennis (34th straight) and men's cross country team (23rd straight) continued their dominant streak of conference titles. A total of 18 TCNJ athletes earned All-American honors and a huge pride of Lions received conference and academic honors.
